Spoiler-wary RPG fans, take cover. A colossal data leak appears to have pushed full achievement lists for a wave of upcoming and even unannounced PC games onto the internet — and two of the biggest names caught in the fallout are Atlus’s massively anticipated Persona 6 and Square Enix’s Kingdom Hearts 4.
As first reported by Eurogamer, the information seems to have been pulled from Steam‘s backend, where achievement data for unreleased games is normally kept hidden from public view until launch day.
How the Steam Achievements Leak Happened
On Steam, achievements for unreleased titles typically sit invisibly on Valve’s servers, invisible to players until a game goes live. However, a third-party tracking site reportedly found a way to surface this hidden data, publishing achievement lists for a huge number of games that have either not launched yet or, remarkably, have never even been officially announced.
For developers and publishers, this is a nightmare scenario. Achievement names and descriptions are usually written late in production and often contain direct references to story events, boss encounters, chapter titles and endgame content — precisely the kind of information companies spend years protecting.
Persona 6: Is a Steam Release on the Cards?
The next Persona game may be closer than we think
Atlus officially unveiled Persona 6 in 2025 with a stylish teaser, but the studio has remained tight-lipped about platforms and a release window. The sudden appearance of a full Persona 6 achievement list on Steam strongly suggests a PC version is in active development — and potentially further along than many fans assumed.
The downside? Achievement descriptions can be a goldmine of story spoilers, and eager dataminers are already picking the leaked list apart for clues about characters, story arcs and gameplay systems. If you want to go into Persona 6 completely fresh, this may be a weekend to stay off the gaming corners of social media.
Kingdom Hearts 4 Achievements Surface Too
Kingdom Hearts 4 was announced all the way back in 2022, and details have trickled out slowly ever since. Like Persona 6, its appearance in this leak points to a Steam version being in the works — a move that would make sense given Square Enix’s growing commitment to PC in recent years, with titles like Final Fantasy VII Remake and Rebirth making their way to Steam.
Naturally, fans are combing the leaked achievements for hints about new Disney worlds, keyblade transformations and where Sora’s next journey will take him. Treat any “findings” with a healthy dose of skepticism, though — leaked data can be outdated, placeholder, or subject to change.
Why This Leak Is Such a Big Deal
Beyond the immediate spoiler risk, leaks like this are significant for what they imply. Achievements are typically integrated into a build relatively late in development, so their existence on Steam’s servers hints that these projects are in a fairly advanced state. It also wouldn’t be surprising to see Valve tighten access to its achievement APIs in the aftermath to prevent something like this from happening again.
That said, an achievement list is not a release date. Persona 6 and Kingdom Hearts 4 remain officially undated, and publishers rarely comment on leaks of this nature — so tempered excitement is the wisest approach.
