One of YouTube’s most recognizable voices is officially bringing Gielinor to the screen. Charlie White, better known to millions as MoistCr1TiKaL, has announced a partnership with Jagex and Lyrical Animation to develop an animated series based on the legendary MMORPG RuneScape. For longtime fans of both the crEator and the game, this collaboration feels like a match made in the Wilderness.
A Passion Project Decades in the Making
Anyone who has followed MoistCr1TiKaL’s channel knows the YouTuber’s deep, long-running affection for RuneScape. The game has been a recurring fixture in his content over the years, and his community has long associated him with the iconic fantasy world of Gielinor. Now, that genuine fandom is being transformed into an official project with the full backing of Jagex, the studio behind the franchise.
Who Is MoistCr1TiKaL?
Charlie White, also known by his channel name penguinz0, is one of the biggest commentary creators on YouTube, with millions of subscribers and a career spanning well over a decade. Famous for his deadpan delivery and distinctive deep voice, he has expanded his footprint far beyond YouTube, co-owning the successful Moist Esports organization and dabbling in music, podcasting, and business ventures. Teaming up with a major game developer like Jagex marks yet another step in his evolution from content creator to media producer.
What We Know About the Animated Series
Details about the RuneScape animated series are still scarce. The project is being developed in partnership with Lyrical Animation, with Jagex involved to ensure the adaptation stays true to the beloved MMORPG. At this stage, there is no confirmed release window, episode count, or cast information, meaning fans will need to stay tuned as production moves forward.
What we do know is that the series will draw from RuneScape’s rich universe — a world filled with dragons, quests, warring gods, and unforgettable locations like Varrock, Lumbridge, and the aforementioned Wilderness. After more than two decades of lore-building, the game offers no shortage of material for an animated adaptation.
Why This Partnership Makes Perfect Sense
Video game adaptations are enjoying a golden era. Hits like Arcane, The Last of Us, and Fallout have proven that game worlds can translate into critically acclaimed screen entertainment when handled with care. A RuneScape animated series taps into that momentum while targeting one of the most dedicated gaming communities on the internet.
From Jagex’s perspective, handing creative input to a creator with MoistCr1TiKaL’s reach is a savvy move. His audience overlaps almost perfectly with RuneScape’s core demographic, and his credibility as a genuine fan — rather than a celebrity hired for name recognition — gives the project an authenticity that communities can rally behind. Expectations will be high, but the foundation for success is clearly there.
