Nintendo is giving British fans another shot at the most coveted console of the year. The Switch 2 The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Edition is being restocked – but as things stand, the restock appears to be exclusive to the UK, leaving collectors around the world staring longingly across the channel.
A Second Chance – But Only If You’re in the UK
The limited edition console reappeared through Nintendo’s official UK storefront, offering fans who missed out previously a fresh opportunity to buy one at retail price. It’s a welcome move after the console vanished almost instantly during earlier drops, with demand massively outstripping supply.
The Zelda edition launched alongside the standard Switch 2 in June 2025 and remains one of the most desirable variants of Nintendo’s new hardware. It features a custom design inspired by Tears of the Kingdom, including gold-accented Joy-Con 2 controllers and a themed dock, plus a digital copy of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom with its Switch 2 upgrade pack bundled in.
Scalpers Strike Again
Unfortunately, this restock exists because of an all-too-familiar problem: scalpers. Previous waves of Zelda Switch 2 stock were swallowed up within minutes, with automated bots snatching consoles before genuine fans could even complete a checkout page. Shortly after, listings began popping up on resale marketplaces at eye-watering markups.
Why the Zelda Switch 2 Is So Coveted
It’s easy to see why this particular edition attracts so much attention. Tears of the Kingdom was one of the best-selling games on the original Switch, and the Zelda fanbase is among the most passionate in gaming. Combine that with a console that has been consistently sold out worldwide since launch, and you have a collector’s item that scalpers know they can flip for a profit. Limited edition hardware has always carried premium resale value, but the Switch 2 shortage has amplified the problem dramatically.
What About Fans Outside the UK?
Here’s the frustrating part: Nintendo hasn’t announced similar restocks for North America, Europe, Japan, or anywhere else. For now, the message to international fans is essentially “good luck.” Anyone hoping to secure a Zelda Switch 2 elsewhere will need to keep a close eye on official Nintendo channels and trusted retailers – and be patient.
Our advice: avoid paying scalpers’ inflated prices on secondary markets. Nintendo has shown it will continue pushing out new stock waves over time, and paying double the retail price only encourages the bots to keep coming back for more.
Grab Your Zelda Fix Digitally While You Wait
If the hardware hunt has you exhausted, there’s an easier way to enjoy Hyrule on whatever Switch you already own. You can pick up The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, the Switch 2 upgrade pack, or Nintendo eShop gift cards at TURGAME.com – a quick and reliable way to top up your library while you wait for console stock to stabilize.
Whether the UK-only restock signals a broader rollout to come remains to be seen. For now, UK fans should act fast – because if history has taught us anything, this stock won’t last long either.
